Nutrients/Active Ingredients: Contains high amounts of vitamin C and cobalt. Also contains Sulphur, tin and aluminum. Used as an herb to prevent disease. Has resins, antioxidants, flavonoids, and terpene (hydrocarbons found in the essential oil of a plant).

- Urinary: Used to prevent urinary/bladder infection. May help with urinary issues like cystitis. Used as a diuretic.
- Immune: Used to prevent colds, infections used to help with allergies. Thought to have antiviral, antibiotic, and antiseptic qualities.
- Male/Female Reproductive: May help with premenstrual water retention and bloating.

Common doses and preparation: You can use as flavoring in cooking or as a decoction. Berries are bitter when crushed. They have a pine, fruit, pepper taste. They are the main flavoring in gin. You can add small amount of the berries to pork, beef dishes, casseroles, and stuffing. They can also be added to sweet dishes like cake.
Side Effects/Precautions/Interactions: If you have allergies to family of Cupressaceae/Cypress. If you are pregnant, nursing, digestive disease, kidney disease. Not recommended for long term use (greater than four weeks) or in high doses.
