  • Respiratory: Most commonly used for runny nose, phlegm, sinus congestion, as a decongestant, tonsillitis, laryngitis, and sore throats. 
  • Nervous: Thought to improve memory, help with depression, and improve cognition.
  • Immune: Thought to have antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant,  and astringent properties. 
  • Male/Female Reproductive:  Used for menopause symptoms like night sweats and hot flashes. 

Common doses and preparation: You can make a gargle by soaking in vinegar, adding honey, salt, and cayenne pepper. Commonly used as a culinary herb in meat dishes, seasoning for vegetables, potatoes, in teas, smoothies, and tincture. Has an earthy taste.
