Uses by system and symptom:

  • Cardiovascular:  Used to prevent plaque and reduce cholesterol
  • Digestive/Gastrointestinal: Used for bad breath, nausea, vomiting, spasms, indigestion, gas, stimulating gastric and biliary secretions.
  • Endocrine: Use to prevent type 2 diabetes and to lower blood sugar.
  • Integumentary/Skin: has been used in cosmetics. 
  • Skeletal:  Has been used for arthritis.

Common doses and preparation:  Mint flavor and scent.  Sweeter than peppermint. Used as flavoring in toothpaste, mouthwash, food, and drink.  Often added to cheeses, sauces, and yogurts.  Used as an oil and tincture.
