The container may not be beautiful. The product inside. Wonderful! It doesn’t matter whether it is in a fancy container. I use glass. This is my favorite immune boosting recipe.

I love making Elderberry Syrup. Most syrups are made with alcohol or water. I prefer the water. I make a decoction. A decoction is a way to draw out nutrients from herbs you can’t use by infusion. They tend to be dried berries, barks, seeds, and hard roots. I love to cook. I tend to find some recipes and change them to what I like. I encourage you to do the same. What do you need?
1 cup dried elderberries
1/4 cup dried echinacea
1 tablespoon cinnamon
3 teaspoon allspice
1/2 cup rosehips
2 tablespoon ginger
3 cups water
1 cup raw/ unfiltered honey.
Add all the ingredients except for the honey. I bring the ingredients to a boil in a sauce pan. You then want to turn down the heat and simmer. Simmering is just under boiling. Let this simmer until about half has evaporated. Typically about 30 to 45 minutes. You want to strain out the ingredients. I use a metal mesh strainer. Some people will use a cheesecloth. Once you strain the mixture you will use the liquid to make your syrup. You want to let the liquid cool until it is lukewarm ( just above room temperature). Add your honey and mix it well. REFRIDGERATE. I like to store food in glass jars.
Herbalists recommend to alternate immune boosters about every 6 weeks.
